Green Cleaning, Healthy Living: Viking Pure Leads the Way

When you think about what makes a home feel comfortable and safe, what comes to mind? Maybe it’s a cozy chair, familiar photos on the wall, or the smell of a favorite meal.

What you probably don’t think about is what’s used to clean the floors and countertops. Yet the cleaning products used in a living space have a huge impact on our health and well being, especially for seniors. That’s why we’re so excited to talk about a change that puts health and sustainability first.

At Priority Life Care, we’re committed to creating the healthiest environment possible. This means looking at everything, right down to the solutions we use to keep our communities sparkling clean.

We’ve embraced a powerful, eco-friendly system called Viking Pure, and it’s making a world of difference for our residents, particularly those in memory care.

Why Traditional Cleaning Isn’t Always the Best

You know that strong, chemical smell that often comes with cleaning products? For a long time, we’ve associated that scent with being clean.

However, those harsh chemicals can cause problems. Many common cleaners contain volatile organic compounds (VOCs). When these VOCs are released into the air, they can cause respiratory irritation, headaches, and other health issues. For seniors, especially those with sensitive respiratory systems or allergies, this can be a serious concern.

Beyond the immediate effects, these chemicals leave residues on surfaces. When we think about our cleaning practices, we think about the removal of germs, but we also think about residents resting their hands on a tabletop, or grandchildren crawling on the floor.

We believe you shouldn’t have to worry about what’s left behind after cleaning. In a memory care setting, this is even more important, as residents may be more sensitive to their environment.

A Smarter, Gentler Approach to Clean

Viking Pure is changing the game. This truly innovative system creates powerful cleaning and disinfecting solutions using just water, salt, and electricity. That’s it.

The process, known as electrochemical activation, produces two simple, yet effective, solutions. One is a gentle, multi-purpose cleaner that cuts through grease and grime, and the other is a hospital-grade disinfectant that eliminates germs without harsh side effects.

What does this mean for our residents? It means the air in our communities is cleaner and free from irritating chemical fumes. It means the surfaces they touch every day are sanitized without leaving behind toxic residues.

It’s a system that’s tough on germs but incredibly gentle on people and the planet, and is something that aligns perfectly with our commitment to sustainability and creating a nurturing home for our residents.

Leading with Wellness and Sustainability

Our decision to rely on Viking Pure for cleaning is a stark reflection of our promise to prioritize the wellness of our residents. Poor indoor air quality can affect everyone, and seniors, like the rest of us, spend up to 90% of their time indoors, making clean air even more important. When we take steps to eliminate harsh chemicals, we actively improve the air our residents breathe every day.

And that commitment sends ripple effects outward into the greater community and environment. Viking Pure solutions are biodegradable and safe for the environment. Since we can generate our cleaning solutions on-site, we drastically reduce plastic waste from single-use bottles and the carbon footprint associated with shipping heavy liquid chemicals.

If you’re interested in learning more about our forward-thinking approach to senior living and our commitment to resident well being and sustainability, we’d love to talk. Reach out to Priority Life Care today to see the difference for yourself.

My mother transitioned to assisted living two years ago, and within the past year, the memory care unit. I am so very grateful for the loving and attentive staff. Memory care is not easy, nor is it perfect. They have consistent staff members which says a lot about the management and the facility. I wish I could remember all their names, but specifically Dulce, Daisie, Urbain, Pam, Cheila, Shawntel, Lilly - and so many others, that provide loving care to the memory care residents. They arrange for so many activities - visit their Facebook page to catch a glimpse. The front desk staff at the front door are always friendly and helpful, too! I have peace of mind knowing my mother is in very good hands.
